A conversation with Jai Shankar

Chief Technology Officer

While listening to Jai speak about his life and role at PlattForm, it doesn’t take long to realize that his talent for solving complex problems is the result of a well-traveled life and a strong intellect rooted in a positive imagination. He has a broad resume that stems from his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering that he earned in Chennai, India, and his MBA that he received from Northwestern University.

The mantra he lives by is Albert Einstein’s Three Rules of Work: “Out of clutter, find simplicity; From discord, find harmony; In the middle of difficulty, lies opportunity.”

The real heroes in Jai’s life have also been the most impactful – his parents. “There was a focus my dad always kept. He said, ‘I will not compromise when it comes to education.' My mom always stayed optimistic and believed there was something better out there.”

Considering his title, we had to ask if there was once piece of technology he couldn’t live without. He replied as if it were obvious: “My kids. They are the technology of God.”

In sum, if you get an opportunity to talk to Jai, don’t waste it.
